Braata Productions, a Jamaican arts
company dedicated to plays of the Caribbean
and its Diaspora, will in April present
the New York live theater premiere of
“God’s Way,” a play of dramatic realism
by Dhalia Harris, a leading Jamaican
playwright.
Braata Productions said in a statement
that performances will be April 7 to 10 at
Theater at the 14th Street Y, 344 E 14th
St. and April 14-24 at Jamaica Performing
Arts Center (JPAC), 153-10 Jamaica Ave.,
Queens.
“In this four-character drama, a middleclass
Jamaican family is forever changed
by the revelation of its patriarch’s double
life,” Braata Productions said. “’God’s
Way’ is an absorbing drama that examines
everything from faith, fractured friendships
and mother-daughter relationships
to trust, resentment and crime and punishment.

Jamaican Reggae and Dancehall icon, Shaggy,
released a new single, “Mi Nuh Know” on
Friday, March 18 on Ranch Entertainment. He
is fresh off his Grammy Award nomination for
producing and co-writing Spice’s groundbreaking
album. The track interpolates “Wah-Do-
Dem,” the infectious tune by fellow Jamaican
“singjay” artist, Eek-A-Mouse and is available
on all digital platforms with the correlating
music video, directed by Jay Will, also out now.

Miller Theatre at Columbia University, the
leading presenter of new music in New York
City and a vital force for innovative programming
at Columbia University School of the
Arts, continues its 2021-22 Jazz series with
the Kenny Barron Trio.
The theatre said on Monday that the trio
