Ayhe’s period of ineligibility started
on the date of her last missed test
and will end on April, 18, 2023.
She will not be part of T&T’s Team
line-up at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
Additionally, the AIU ruling
declared that the 27-year-old sprinter’s
results between April 19 and
August 30 have been scrapped.
The biggest loss for Ayhe is the
Pan American Games women’s 100
meters silver medal.
On Aug. 7, in Lima, Peru, the
Trinidadian athlete finished second in
the l00meter final behind Jamaica’s
reigning Olympic champion Elain
Thompson and ahead of Barbadian
Victoria Cristina Rossa.
T&T Olympic Committee (TTOC)
president Brian Lewis said any combination
of three missed tests of filing
failures within 12 months is considered
a violation of anti-doping rule
which carriers an automatic ban for
two years.
Ayhee had been provisionally suspended
last Aug. 30, a ruling that saw
her already miss last year’s World
Championships in Doha.
She is T&T’s most successful
female Olympian, having earned the
distinction at the 2016 Games in Rio
de Janerio, Brazil.
we are open-minded and look forward
to participating in the debate,”
Grave said.
He said, when possible, match referees
must ensure four full days of
cricket are played.
The CWI CEO believes that flood
lights must be utilized to get the
allotted number of overs completed if
time is lost due to rain or bad light.
Grave said if the new proposed
four-day Test matches start on a
Thursday and ends on a Sunday, it
will encourage more crowd support.
He said even if the changes are
made, Test cricket will still be seen as
the number one format.
runs. He was hit for 18 runs in his
first over but his other three overs cost
him just 10 runs, ended with figures
of 4-28.
West Indies, who were chasing a
demanding target of 209, failed to gather
the 13 runs required off the last six
balls of the contest and ended with 204
for seven wickets.
Despite two interruptions by rain
at Warner Park, the West Indies comprehensively
outplayed Ireland as the
tourists collapsed from 50-1 to 138
all over when play resumed after a 45
minute break.
Captain Kieron Pollard got four wickets
for 17 runs and ended the series
with eight wickets. He was named
Man-of-the-Series.
Both Simmons and Evin Lewis made
light work of the chase, Simmons hitting
five fours and 10 sixes in a blistering
40-ball knock that surpassed his
previous best T20I score of 82.
Lewis added 46 from 25 deliveries
in an opening stand worth 133 to help
Ireland’s chances of winning the series.
After Lewis was out Simmons ended
the match with a six.
