Eight WI players signed
to play in BPL T20

Eight West Indies players
have been drafted to play in the
Bangladesh Premier League
(BPL) T20 tournament from
January 24 to February 22.
The players are veteran
Chris Gayle, Obed McCoy,
and Alzarri Joseph, Chadrick
Walton, Rated Emrit, Sunil
Narine, Oshane Thomas and
Kesrick Williams.
They all secured places on
the six franchises that would
contest the Bangladesh Premier
League (BPL) T20 competition
in the recent draft
Among the overseas T20
stars, veteran Gayle went to

Cricket West Indies
(CWI) has reminded
spectators that in keeping
with recent policy in
matches staged in Grenada
and St. Lucia last
year, only those who had
been vaccinated against
the COVID-19 virus will
be allowed in venues
where matches between
West Indies and England
will be played later this
month.
CWI said in a statement
that fully vaccinated
spectators will be required
to bring their vaccination
document with them to
be assured entry.

Test team returns
to the Caribbean in March
for fixtures at the Sir Vivian
Richards Cricket
Ground in Antigua from
March 8-12, Kensington
Oval from March 16-20
and Grenada National
Stadium from March
24-28.
The games are expected
to inject much-needed
tourist spend in the
islands’ economies as
thousands of English
supporters look to make
their first overseas trip to
follow the team.
