Thanksgiving turkey giveaway in Brooklyn, Queens
By Tangerine Clarke
Thanksgiving is fast
approaching, which means,
soup kitchens, food pantries,
churches, and organizations
across the boroughs are gearing
up to serve residents, who
will join long lines, as the coronavirus
pandemic continues,
leaving families with little to
eat, during this time of food
insecurity.
There is no doubt, multiple
Brooklyn and Queens locations
will be distributing turkeys,
food hampers, and cooked
meals to meet the needs of
households this holiday season.
Brooklyn community leader
and president of Stalwarts
Youth, Dimple Willabus, told
Caribbean Life, that the 71st
Precinct in partnership with
the 71st Precinct Community
Council, will host a turkey
and food giveaway on Thursday,
Nov. 18, from noon to 2 pm.
Residents are expected
to gather in front of the 71st
Precinct location, 421 Empire
Blvd., Brooklyn location, for the
meals, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Additionally, Stalwarts
Youth, will distribute free face
masks, and hand sanitizers,
during the two-hour charitable
event.
