Sammy says he has still “not
closed the door” on his international
return and plans to make a comeback
to the national team ahead of
2021 T20 World Cup in India, with a
good show in the Caribbean Premier
League (CPL), according to the Hindustantimes.
The 36-year-old Sammy last played
for West Indies when he led the team
to the 2016 T20 World Cup win, beating
England in the final at Eden Gardens,
the Indian paper said.
Sammy said the long COVID-19
hiatus has given him enough time to
introspect and reignited a desire to
make a comeback, the Times said.
“I have had a lot of soul searching
and reflection in the past few
months,” Sammy, who is leading the

The International Cricket Council
(ICC) announced that it was postponing
the 50-0ver Women’s World Cup
until 2022, amid the ongoing global
health risks posed by the COVID-19
pandemic.
The ICC recently said it could continue
“to evaluate the situation” regarding
the staging of the tournament in
New Zealand next February, noting that
planning would continue as scheduled.

WI loss on poor

believes a lack of proper planning by
West Indies following their win in the
opening Test at Southampton, England
to their poor form in the remaining
matches and their eventual series defeat
to England recently.
West Indies took a 1-0 lead in the
three-match series with a four-wicket
victory but then collapsed to heavy
defeats in the second Test by 113 runs
and the third by 269 runs, to further
extend their 32-year wait for a series
win on English soil.
“Considering the way they played in
the first Test, I think after that they
