Eugene breaks ground
for Kensington Dog Run

legislator. “This is an example of what

beautiful and attractive places to visit

Martin Maher, Prospect Park Alliance
President Sue Donoghue, as well as
Borough President Eric Adams and
Council Member Brad Lander.
“Together we have been able to make
so many changes to improve Prospect
Park,” he said. I also want to commend
the workers who are here, along with
the engineers, and those people who
designed this wonderful dog park, they
also deserve a very special thank you.”

to happen; and, through their hard
work and advocacy, it has become a

Brooklyn Council Member Dr.
Mathieu Eugene, in partnership with
the Prospect Park Alliance and the
Kensington Dog Run Association,
joined colleagues and dog owners for
the groundbreaking ceremony of the
Kensington Dog Run, a project made
possible through his funding.
Eugene, who represents the 40th
Council District in Brooklyn, said on
Tuesday that the 7,000-square foot,
fenced-in play space, located at the
Parade Grounds across from Kermit
Place, “will accommodate dogs all of
sizes.”
He also said the play space will
provide “a safe recreational area for
pets, including a new synthetic grass
designed to be softer on tender paws.”
“This is a wonderful day, and I can’t
describe how excited I am to be here
with you,” Eugene said. “For someone
who was born on a beautiful island, I
used to have a lot of dogs in my house,
and a lot of animals in general, and this
brings back good memories.
“I want to take the opportunity to
