Legendary West Indies fast
bowler Michael Holding said the
decisions of Darren Bravo, Shimron
Hetmyer and Kemo Paul to
opt of the tour to England were
“unfortunate,” if understandable
because of concerns over the coronavirus
(COVID-19) pandemic situation
in the UK.
CWI had previously given guarantees
that players would not be
forced to go on the tour if they
were not comfortable with the
safety provisions being put in
place.
Cricket West Indies’ chief executive
Johnny Grave, told ESPNcricinfo
that Bravo, Hetmyer and
Paul all expressed fears about how
going to the UK could adversely
affect their families.

has been voted the English country
cricket’s greatest overseas player by
the BBC Sports users.
Antigua-born Sir Viv took 43.2 percent
of the final vote, finishing ahead
of another former West Indies great,
Sir Clive Lloyd (9.2 percent) and New
Zealand all-rounder Sir Richard Hadlee
(8.5 percent).

thinks the current Black Lives Matter
(BLM) protest that is going around the
world can spur his side on when they
meet England in the upcoming three-
Test series, starting next month.
He was speaking via Zoom from
Old Trafford, Manchester during an
interview with the Trinidad Guardian
on what the regional team will do to
show their support for the BLM protests
which came about after 46-yearold
