West Indies suffered a whitewash
in the three-match One-Day International
(ODI) against Bangladesh
on Monday.
The inexperienced side disappointed
once again as the team
lost by 120 runs in the third and
final ODI at the Zahur Ahmed
Chowhury Stadium in Chattogram
on the back of two dismal performances
where totals under 150
saw them lose the opening match
by six wickets and the second by
seven wickets at the Shere Bangla
National Stadium in Dhaka a few
days before.
Put in to bat first by Captain
Jason Mohammed, Tamim Iqbal
(64), Mushfiqur Rahim (64) and
Mahmadullah (51) helped Bangladesh
post 297 for six in 50 0vers.

Cricket West Indies says there would
be no backlash from the regional board
towards players who have declined for
the tour of Bangladesh, saying the global
COVID-19 pandemic had resulted
in “unprecedented times and unprecedented
conditions” under which to
play cricket.

Women’s T20
Blaze Tourney

Caribbean countries are hoping that
Cricket West Indies (CWI) host the
upcoming 2021 Women’s T20 Blaze
Tournament.
The winner of this year’s regional
tournament qualifies to complete at
the 2022 Commonwealth Games in
Birmingham, England. The Games, set
to he be held from July 28 to Aug. 8,
will include women’s cricket for the
first time.
The West Indies earned automatic
qualification to the Games as it falls
within the six top-ranked International
Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20
nations.
However, CWI will have to host its
own qualification event — Women’s
T20 Blaze — to determine which Com-
