The memorials on the grounds of The Woodlawn
Cemetery & Conservancy recognize those who have
fought to protect our nation from the American
Revolution through the conflicts America faces today.
Visit our website, to learn more about the history of
our Veterans, www.woodlawn.org.
Plan to join us on November 13th for a walking tour
of the graves and memorials of World War I veterans
- men and women who served in the Great War a
century ago. Led by Kevin C. Fitzpatrick, the awardwinning
author of World War I New York: A Guide
to the City’s Enduring Ties to the Great War, you
will meet those who served in trench warfare, brave
aviators who risked their lives in biplanes, a member
of the Harlem Hellfighters, and poor immigrants
who were drafted and served their new country with
honor.
