41st Precinct
Thursday, September 19 at 8:00 a.m. - A 34-
year old male victim in the vicinity of East 163 Street
and Southern Boulevard contacted police after discovering
property was removed from his bag. Subsequent
investigation determined that $230 worth
of unauthorized puchases were made on the victim’s
credit/debit card the same day at TJ Maxx, located
at 961 E. 174th Street. Surveillance photos from that
day were obtained from TJ Maxx.
42nd Precinct
Monday, September 23 at 11:39 a.m. - An
unidentified individual, described as a black male in
his 20s, was walking in the vicinity of Tinton Avenue
and East 163rd Street when he fired several gunshot
rounds at another male in a reckless endangerment
incident. No injuries were reported.
43rd Precinct
Tuesday, October 22 at 6:50 a.m. - Police are
seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing
female who was last seen leaving her residence
on Leland Avenue. The missing individual has been
identified as 14-year old Janasia Parrilla. She is described
as being approximately 5’1”, weighing 130
pounds, hispanic, medium complexion, heavy build,
brown eyes and curly black hair. She was last seen
wearing black pants, a black sweater and black
sneakers.
44th Precinct
Tuesday, October 22 at 3:30 a.m. - A 31-year
old male who has just gotten off a northbound #4
train at the Mount Eden subway station was approached
in the mezzanine by an unidentified male,
who displayed a knife and threatened to cut the victim’s
throat if he didn’t relinquish his property. The
victim complied and the suspect fled to the street
with the victim’s $30. There were no injuries reported
as a result of this incident.
45th Precinct
Tuesday, October 22 at 12:50 p.m. - Police
provided an update on their investigation regarding
an homicide that occurred on Thursday, October 3 in
the vicinity of 533 Ellsworth Avenue, where 58-yearold
Noelia Mateo was discovered unconscious and
unresponsive with multiple lacerations, before she
was pronounced deceased at NYC Health & Hospitals/
Jacobi later that day. The NYPD confirmed that
63-year-old Yonkers resident Victor Mateo was arrested
in connection to the incident and charged
with murder, manslaughter, acting in a manner to injure
a child and criminal possession of a weapon.
47th Precinct
Sunday, September 22 at 7:55 p.m. - Police
responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision
involving a pedestrian struck in front of 1789 Pitman
Avenue. Upon arrival, police discovered a 50-year
old female with trauma to both legs. EMS responded
to the location and transported the female to NYC
Health & Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition. A preliminary
investigation revealed that the victim was
attempting to cross Pitman Avenue when a darkcolored
pickup truck, being driven in reverse, struck
her and caused her to fall to the ground. The vehicle,
which had an after-market cap installed on the truck
bed, fled the scene in an unknown direction.
52nd Precinct
Wednesday, October 2 at 12:20 a.m. - A
29-year-old Bedford Car Wash employee was working
when an unidentified male and female in possession
of a firearm entered the booth and struck him
in the head. The suspects removed approximately
$800 and fled from the car wash, located at 7 W.
Bedford Park Boulevard, northbound on Jerome Avenue.
The victim was transported to St. Barnabas
Hospital, in stable condition, for bruising and swelling
to the head.
Thursday, October 10 at 10:15 a.m - A 28-
year old victim was opening the door to her vehicle
across the street from 3351 Steuben Avenue when
an unidentified male snatched her cell phone from
her back pocket and fled in an unknown direction.
The suspect is wanted for questioning in connection
to the grand larceny incident.
Tuesday, October 22 at 10:00 a.m. - Police arrested
28-year-old Martinson Afari-Yeboah in connection
to a homicide that occurred on Sunday, April
21 inside of 40 W. Mosholu Parkway, where officers
discovered a 22-year old male unconscious and unresponsive
with a gunshot wound to the neck. Police
charged Afari-Yeboah with manslaughter and criminally
negligent homicide. Preliminary investigation
revealed that the suspect had placed a loaded 9mm
firearm on a table before the firearm discharged one
round, hitting the victim in the neck. EMS responded
and transported the victim, who was identified as
Fredrick Afoakwah, to St. Barnabas Hospital where
he was pronounced deceased.
