ALIVE N KICKIN’ AT GJONAJ’S CONCERT AAOA HOSTS BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT
Albanian American Open Hand Association, Pelham Parkway Neighborhood Association, Assemblywoman
Nathalia Fernandez’s Back to School All Hands Together Event was held on
Sunday, September 8 at Bronx Park East. Local students received brand new free backpacks
and school suppiles to help them prepare for the new academic year.
BOSTON SECOR HOUSES PLAYGROUND OPENING
Councilman Andy King joined NYCHA representatives and local youth in cutting the ribbon
for Boston Secor Houses’ new playground on Tuesday, September 3. During the event, King
also distributed backpacks and school supplies donated by Staples and Bronx CARES to
development residents.

Councilman Mark Gjonaj hosted legendary pop rock band Alive N’ Kickin’ at his Summer Concert
Series on Thursday, August 29 at City Island’s Ambrosini Field. Concert goers enjoyed
the band’s hit single ‘Tighter, Tighter’ and their crowd pleasing covers of contemporary pop
songs.
