Bronx County Chorus announces
the start of rehearsals
for its 80th annual Christmas
concert: ‘Christmas Classics:
From Handel to Hollywood,’
which will explore a collection
of holiday music ranging from
Handel’s Messiah to popular
hits from everyone’s favorite
holiday movies.
Rehearsals begin on Monday,
September 9, at 7:30 p.m.
Weekly rehearsals are held
Mondays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
at the First Lutheran Church of
Throggs Neck, located at 3075
Baisley Avenue.
The chorus announces, and
welcomes Christian Aquino
as their music/choral director.
He will be leading the group
through its 80th anniversary
celebration concerts.
Bronx County Chorus currently
has several openings
in all sections and always welcomes
talented singers from
amateurs to professionals.
Any new singers interested in
joining are welcome to visit rehearsals
to meet the director
and chorus members on the following
Mondays: September 9,
September 16, and September
23. A unique chorus within
the area, Bronx County Chorus
proclaims that all featured
soloists are actual members of
the chorus. There are no vocalists
hired from outside of the
chorus.
The upcoming season will
culminate the 80th annual
Christmas concert: ‘Christmas
Classics: From Handel to Hollywood,
on Sunday, December 8,
at 4 p.m., at the First Lutheran
Church of Throggs Neck, located
at 3075 Baisley Avenue.

MetroCard Van scheduled stop
Assemblyman Michael Benedetto,
in conjunction with Councilman
Mark Gjonaj, announces that
the MetroCard Mobile Van will be
parked at the curb in front of the assemblyman’s
offi ce located at 3602
E. Tremont Avenue, on Friday, September
13, between the hours of 1 to
3 p.m.
The MetroCard Mobile Van enables:
• Senior citizens 65 years of age or
older to apply for Reduced-Fare MetroCard
and receive a temporary card
on the spot (Bring proof of age such
as a Medicare card and valid photo
identifi cation);
• People with disabilities that
qualify, and who present a Medicare
card and valid photo ID such as a
driver’s license to apply for Reduced-
Fare MetroCard;
• Daily riders to add money to their
Reduced-Fare MetroCard; and
• Everyone to get all MetroCard
questions answered.
