About City Stage Dance Academy
City Stage Dance Academy, formerly known as Andrea’s Dance Studio, has been a family owned
and operated dance studio for 58 years. Nicole Fusco, the owner and artistic director, took over
Andrea’s Dance Studio six years ago from her longtime teacher, boss, mentor, and friend, Andrea
Verdeschi. Andrea owned the well-established studio for 50 years. When she retired, she gave Nicole
the honor and privilege to continue her legacy. Nicole was a teacher and dancer of the studio
for many years. Nicole has trained in all different styles of dance. Throughout her childhood she
attended American Ballet Academy, and as she grew older trained in New York City at Broadway
Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. She was accepted for the dance program at LaGuardia
High School for Performing Arts. As a teacher and choreographer, Nicole’s students have won
numerous awards and competitions regionally and nationally. She has also taught dance in many
public school programs in the Bronx and Westchester, as well as Fordham University and Hostos
Community College.
After a six-year thought process and receiving Andrea’s blessing, Nicole has decided to open back
up under a new studio name that she will continue to grow as her own brand! We will be starting
the new dance season as City Stage Dance Academy!!!! We would like to ensure the Bronx Community
that this is not a change in studio management, just a change of name! We have two great
locations in the Bronx, NY- a brand new location in the heart of Morris Park Avenue, as well as
our conveniently located studio in Arthur Avenue! Our goal is to continue to grow both dance
studios with the same family-oriented atmosphere that Andrea’s Dance Studio has always been
known for, with a fresh new look and style as CITY STAGE DANCE ACADEMY!
City Stage Dance Academy accepts students from Beginner to Professional Level of all ages
starting at 1.5 years old through adults. We offer many different styles of dance including Jazz,
Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary/Lyrical, Salsa, Gymnastics, Musical Theater, Pointe, and
Creative Movement. We also offer competitive level classes. Our competition students compete in
regional and national competitions throughout the country. Our company students have travelled
and performed in Disney World Florida, Madison Square Garden, Broadway, danced with
the NYC Radio City Rockettes, and have participated in many other dance events! Our dedicated
staff is highly trained not only in their dance specialties, but are also capable of working with
children of all ages.
We are excited about our upcoming chapter with our new name, City Stage Dance Academy, and
we are proud to continue serving the Bronx Community!
