Hello all!
Unfortunately, we will have
to cancel our May meeting as
of this writing the pause is on
until May 28.
We are hoping to have our
June meeting, but we will see
how feasible this is sometime
during the middle of June.
There is nothing that can
be said regarding this craziness
we are experiencing.
We’ve been getting it all: fi re,
pestilence, plague. Do you
think the man upstairs is trying
to tell us something?
We should all check on our
neighbors and follow the medical
guidelines outlined by the
CDC and other medical offi -
cials. Fun fact: Dr. Anthony
Fauci is from Brooklyn and attended
Regis High School.
We hope that all are able
to get the supplies that they
need. Shop locally if you can,
our merchants need the support.
This is also a devastating
time for them.
We post up to date information
on our Facebook page.
The Throggs Neck Homeowners
Association and we can be
reached by phone at 718-823-
0327. We will get back to you as
soon as humanly possible.
If you have immediate
problems that 311 does not
facilitate, you can call Community
Board 10 at 718-892-
1161. The offi ce is temporarily
closed, but they still monitor
incoming calls.
Stay well, be safe!

We miss seeing our
members so we are trying
to set up a virtual meeting.
I know that this is a learning
experience for many of
us but it is something we
all need to learn how to do
in this new world we are all
living in. It can be as simple
as a phone call to log in to
hear the conversation and
a bit more detailed to log in
visually. So, if you have gotten
into the habit of wearing
daytime pajamas as
well as nighttime pajamas
just throw on a shirt if you
are joining visually. Boy,
has life changed! So, please
stay tuned and we will let
you know when our fi rst
virtual meeting will take
place.
Thank you so much to
our wonderful members
who are still sending in
their dues despite this awful
pandemic. We really do
appreciate your effort to
keep us going. If you have
not yet sent in your dues,
please send it to WLCA,
1145 Hobart Ave., Bronx,
NY 10461.
We know that there
have been several mask
giveaways in our community,
but most masks are
disposable so we know that
we will need a steady supply.
Our association is planning
a mask giveaway so
that our members will be
safe and so will our community.
The details will
be discussed at our virtual
meeting so stay tuned for
updates in our column as to
when you can tune in to our
meeting.
Have you noticed that it
is getting harder to fi nd good
health information on the
internet? Well, Big Brother
is watching and they do not
like you thinking for yourself,
researching and deciding
how you will solve your
own health problems. They
are sabotaging your effort
to stay healthy. They are
doing this by limiting free
speech!
Recently, Google and
Facebook changed their
search engine algorithms
to make it harder to fi nd
information about alternative
and integrative therapies.
The result of their
algorithm change is that
health websites that focus
on alternative and integrative
solutions are bypassed
for more traditional sites.
This has caused some alternative
sites to lose 99%
of their traffi c while sites
like WebMD and the Mayo
Clinic, that actively promote
mainstream medical thinking,
actually gained visibility
of as much as 59.98%.
Certainly, WebMD and
the Mayo Clinic are informative
sites for traditional
pathways to health but we
need to be able to access non
traditional sites as well. We
need to have all of the information,
not just the information
they want us to
have. Why are google and
Facebook steering us away
from these sites?
Maybe it has something
to do with the fact
that Google is now in the
pharmaceutical business.
Alphabet, Google’s parent
company has set up two
pharmaceutical companies,
Calico and Verily Life
Sciences. Verily partnered
with GlaxoSmithKline to
form Galvani Bioelectronics.
Alphabet is also heavily
invested in Vaccitech, a vaccine
company. Is it making
more sense now? Looks like
it may be about the money!
Perhaps they are afraid that
if we eat a healthy diet and
take appropriate supplements
we will not need their
medications.
There are so many
wonderful non traditional
health sites still out there.
I suggest you access them
as well as the traditional
sites. You will know reputable
sites, both traditional
and non traditional, by seeing
references at the end
of the articles. Never let
anyone or anything deter
you from your path to good
health!
