AFRO celebration in the Bronx
On this last day of Black History Month, members of the Black community
show off their AFRO hair in celebration of love, unity, peace, strength and soul.
Youth and community elders participated in what organizer Andy King expressed
as a coming together … the Bronx and beyond.

OLA to offer bus ride to Wind Creek Casino
The Our Lady of the Assumption Senior Bingo Group is sponsoring a bus
trip to the Wind Creek Casino on Wednesday, April 13. Bus departs from Our
Lady of the Assumption Msgr. Mescall Auditorium on Middletown Road (between
Mahan and Parkview avenues) at 8:30 a.m., with a 6-hour stay at the
casino.
The Wind Creek Casino has 3,000 slot machines, poker tables, designer
outlet stores -- Coach, Tommy Hilfi ger, Michael Kors, Chico’s, Charming
Charlie and much more. The Food Court offers Emeril’s Burgers, Steelworks
Buffet and Grill and much more. Tickets are $50 per person with a return of
$40 in slot play, seats on the bus are according to date of payment.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination card and ID needed to board the bus; no
payments will be accepted at the bus. In case of inclement weather in New
York or Pennsylvania, we will cancel 24 hours before and reschedule. You
may park in the Middletown Road schoolyard and please do not block anyone
in, parking in the large schoolyard is reserved for funerals and masses.

Benedetto sponsors state DMV-approved
driver safety program
As a service to his constituents, state Assemblyman Michael Benedetto will
be sponsoring an New York State Department of Motor Vehicles-approved Insurance
Reduction Program on Saturday, April 2, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The course
is held at Fort Schuyler House, 3077 Cross Bronx Expressway.

This 6-hour course will refresh your driving knowledge with a review of
time-tested safe driving tips. Those who complete the course will receive a reduction
of approximately 10% from the base rate of automobile and motorcycle
liability premiums each year for three years.
