and Connecticut, hosted the annual
Bronx tree lighting ceremony
with holiday festivities on
Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Lou Gherig
Plaza at East 161st St. and
Grand Concourse.
Univision New York joined
the decade-plus celebration with
a special broadcast that featured
a special visit from Santa
Claus.The tree lighting ceremony
featured performances
by The Celia Cruz Bronx High
School Choir, Artist Crystal Colon
and La Jara Band, a NYPD
Latin band that was founded
with a goal of unity.
“The holiday season is a
time when we take a moment to
refl ect on the blessings in our
own lives as well as ways we can
give back,” said Bronx Borough
President Ruben Diaz Jr. “After
