On Nov. 24, New Settlement hosted
their second Thanksgiving Food Giveaway
to community members. This
event was in partnership with Councilmember
and Bronx Borough President
Elect Vanessa L. Gibson, Councilmembers
Elect Pierina Sanchez
and Althea Stevens, and NY Common
Pantry.
One free traditional Thanksgiving
box was given per household, which
included several food items such as,
turkey, chicken, stuffi ng, mashed potatoes,
cranberry sauce, canned yams,
canned string beans, canned collard
greens and turkey gravy.

On Dec. 1, Fidelis Care and NYC Health + Hospitals | Lincoln held a Feed
The Bronx event in front of Lincoln Medical Center. Free groceries were provided
for community members in need.

On Nov. 28, an inauguration ceremony was held for Assemblywoman
Yudelka Tapia, who won an uncontested special election. Replacing former Assemblyman
Victor Pichardo, Tapia’s term will run through the end of 2022.
