Real estate developer Mark Stagg,
CEO/Founder of Stagg Group upheld
his annual tradition of gifting thousands
of turkeys to those in need
ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Employees of Stagg Group were
joined by several government offi -
cials over the course of several days
last week including, Bronx Borough
President-elect Vanessa Gibson, Assemblyman
Kenny Burgos, Councilman
Rafael Salamanca, Jr., Elvira
Castillo president, Westchester Latino
Unido and Sabrina Powell, director
of special initiatives at The Echelon
Society, Inc. in Mount Vernon,
N.Y.
On Nov. 20, Stagg partnered with

Free Library for a Food & Health Empowerment
Fair. The event featured
a panel discussion on food insecurity
in the Bronx and a food justice
resource fair with turkey giveaways
and supplied bags of produce.
“Every year we look forward to
this and this year, especially while
we are in a pandemic, we are grateful
for the partnership that was required
to make these events a success
and we are happy to support families
in our community preparing for the
Thanksgiving holiday,” Stagg said.
In total, Stagg donated 3,000 turkeys
to Bronx residents.

Relics arrive at St. Helena
Three fi rst-class relics of Padre Pio were at St. Helena Parish in the Bronx
all day on Nov. 27. The relics included some hair, a gauze with blood and a crust
from the stigmata. Padre Pio was an Italian Capuchin Friar who died in 1968
and is believed to be the fi rst priest to receive the stigmata.
