On Friday, Sept. 10, New York City
Councilman Eric Dinowitz — in conjunction
with AT&T, Literacy Inc.,
and NYC Department of Transportation
— hosted a Helmet and Resource
Giveaway at In-Tech Academy, on Tibbets
Avenue in the Bronx. Students
were excited to be sized up for a helmet
and then receive one. Students also received
composition books, spiral notebooks,
reading books, pencils, crayons
and bags at the giveaway.
“If you want people to have alternate
means of transportation, you
have to make sure it’s easy, accessible
and safe,” Dinowitz said. “Part of the
safety of riding a bicycle is having a
helmet that fi ts well.” -
