After two long years Hon. Lori
 Citron Knipel and her political
 club, the Brooklyn Independent
 Democrats, marked the triumphant
 return of their annual tannual
 springtime holiday party,
 dubbed “Celebration in March.”
 This year’s event, held on
March 30 at the Grand Metropolitan
 Ballroom in Gravesend,
shone a spotlight on the city’s
 healthcare heroes who kept the
 world turning during the darkest
 days of the pandemic.
 “We have a long-standing tradition
 of gathering elected officials,
  civic and community leaders
 to meet, mingle and network,”
 Knipel, a Democratic district
leader in the 44th Assembly District,
  told Brooklyn Paper. “This
year it had even greater meaning
 as we collaborated with the
 Lefkowitz family in honoring our
 healthcareheroes who put their
lives on the line for the past two
 years caring for patients under
 the most difficult circumstances.”
The event was a “huge success,”
  Knipel said, adding that a
return to some normalcy — and
 in-person networking — made
 things even better.
 “Everyone enjoyed a good
 time,” Knipel said. “People were
grateful for the opportunity to socialize
 after months of Zooms!”
