Coney Islanders gathered
for a back-to-school block
party on Saturday featuring
free school supplies and fun
activities that got Brooklyn’s
pint-sized scholars psyched
for the school year, according
to one local leader.
“The young kids had so
much fun, they had a marching
band and they had the
young kids singing gospel,
which was awesome,” said
Betty James, president of the
Marlboro Houses Resident Association.
