32 | BOROMAG.COM | OCTOBER 2015 THE ARTS Oct. 17 will mark the kickoff of the fourth annual Astoria Art Festival—a weeklong arts and culture celebration focused on Queens-based artists that is free and open to the public. This year, the festival will run through Oct. 24, with more than 30 local host venues and a week’s worth of exciting events planned. Saturday, Oct. 17— Opening night at Diamond Dogs photo exhibit with DJs playing all night from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. featuring the works of Lizabeth Nieves and Adrienne Darnell. Tuesday, Oct. 20— Art opening at Mars, featuring the work of Kelly Franke with a 6 to 9 p.m. happy hour. Wednesday, Oct. 21— Dinner, DJ and donuts at Queens Comfort from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23— Photo exhibit featuring Maggie Perrier and live music at Queens Kickshaw from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24— Art Walk from 12:30 to 6 p.m. with the following venues: Lockwood, Sweet Afton, Pachanga Patterson, William Hallet and Ovelia. Saturday, Oct. 24— Closing party at Fatty’s from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. featuring the work of Mario Savinon and Sandra Vucicevic, with live music.
