Dear Western Queens, As the chill in the air strengthens, so does the creativity. While there is still plenty of time outdoors via the corn maze at The Queens County Farm, the addition of wine at the LIC Flea for weekend shoppers, and the final month of dining al fresco—October is the month we showcase the unique creative talents of our neighborhood. This month, we decided to dive into the mind of the entrepreneur. New York City harbors the quintessential culture for fostering new ideas and building new businesses. So we checked in with local chefs, designers, business owners, and artists to find out what truly makes them tick. This year’s Astoria Art Festival features over sixty talented artists, so be sure to check out the festivities and show your support. Julian Medina’s team also brings his cantina-style Mexican to Astoria, opening his first venture outside of Manhattan.
