The teen is only the latest
 young New Yorker maimed as
 a result of gun violence.
Two teens were shot by another
 adolescent last month at
 the Kings Plaza Shopping Center
 in Mill Basin, while earlier
 this month an 18-year-old was
shot while sitting in a parked
 car in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
 Among other things,
 Mayor Eric Adams has
 blamed drill, a popular but
 controversial rap subgenre,
for the spike in youth crime,
especially as a number of drill
rappers have been slain in recent
 months.
