Saluting his commitment
to the Autism community
Michael Serao has been giving back his whole life.
The Executive Vice President and Chief
Administrative Officer of First Central Savings Bank
(FCSB) draws his inspiration from his childhood
and his cousin, Vincent, who had Down Syndrome.
“I remember growing up, Vinny, who was
non-verbal, came to our house every weekend,”
Said Serao. “My grandmother was heartbroken.
“To honor my grandmother’s legacy
and my cousin, I got involved with
Autism, to be a voice for the
voiceless.”
Serao has now served on the board
of QSAC (Queens Services for the
Autism Community) for 12 years, and
has been involved for many more. In
fact, his estate will bequeath $1
million to those with Autism.
And the Bank embraces this as well.
“It’s more about awareness and being mindful,”
said Serao.
We salute Michael Serao for his efforts, especially during this, Autism Acceptance Month.
