Despite the ongoing threat of
COVID-19, Salvatore Larussa
Dance Theatre soldiered on
and held its free annual dance show
on Sunday, Oct. 4, for the 11th year
running.
This socially distant outdoor
event was held in the back lot of the
well-renowned dance studio located
at 66-85 73rd Place in Middle Village,
where about a dozen masked
spectators enjoyed dance interpreting
themes such as the coronavirus,
addiction, and more.
To ensure the safety of everyone
involved, the performers also
donned face coverings throughout
the presentation.
The demonstration lasted 45 minutes,
and while that was not as long
as previous years, this reduced time
frame did not diminish the beauty
or significance of the event.
The fluid movements and postmodern
routines told imaginative
narratives words simply
couldn’t.
