East Village
Attackers take
food in robbery
A food delivery man was attacked
and robbed earlier this summer inside
60 Pitt St. in the East Village, police
said.
A 34-year-old man was trying to
make a food delivery at the building,
on Aug. 5, around 10:30 p.m., when
offi cials say two men attacked him,
punching him in the head and torso.
The men took the food and then fl ed
in an unknown direction.

Greenwich Village
Shoplifter goes
on the attack
A man who tried to shoplift at a
Duane Reade and then attacked an employee
who attempted to stop him remains
at large, according to police.
Cops said the robbery occurred at
10:35 a.m. on Sept. 9 at the pharmacy
located at 52 East 14th St.
According to law enforcement sources,
the suspect put six bottles of face
wash into a bag and then tried to leave.
A 20-year-old female employee confronted
the man, who then allegedly
shoved her aside, struck her and displayed
a knife. Police say he then fl ed
east along East 14th Street.
The employee suffered minor injuries
and was treated by EMS at the scene.
Police described the man wanted for
robbery as bald and wearing eyeglasses.
He was last seen wearing a black
hooded sweatshirt, a blue shirt, green
pants and white sneakers.

Cops fi nd knife in traffi c stop
A routine traffi c stop turned into a
weapons bust along a Greenwich Village
street last month, police reported.
At 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 24, an offi cer
pulled over a car at
Sixth Avenue and
Bleecker Street
that had illegally
tinted rear windows
and turned
6th Precinct
Greenwich Village
out to have expired license plates, according
to a police report.
After a further investigation, the
offi cer discovered that the male
driver didn’t have a valid New York
State driver’s license on him, and
that the license plates belonged to a
different vehicle.
The offi cer also found that the identifi
cation number at the front of the vehicle
was obstructed
from view by a
sticker.
During an ensuing
search of the
vehicle, police said,
the offi cer recovered a switchblade
from the center console.
Vincent Hope, 24, was arrested for
criminal possession of a forged instrument,
a felony.

Wanted for gunfire outside Wendy’s
Police have released video footage
of several individuals wanted
for fi ring shots at a man in Noho last
month.
Law enforcement sources said the
gunfi re erupted at 11:10 p.m. on Sept.
26 near a Wendy’s restaurant located
at 650 Broadway.
According to authorities, the individuals
approached a male victim and
displayed fi rearms. They then began
fi ring, blasting at least seven bullets
at the victim, but did not injure him.
Cops said the individuals and victim
fl ed the scene shortly after the
shots rang out.
Offi cers from the 9th Precinct responded
to a 911 call regarding the
incident. Through an investigation,
law enforcement sources said, cops
found 5 shell casings down the block
from the Wendy’s, in front of 665
Broadway, and two more casings near
676 Broadway.
The video footage police released
on Oct. 4 shows the suspects inside
the Wendy’s restaurant.

Thieves hit Union
Sq. newsstand
Two young men are wanted by police
for stealing cash from a newspaper
stand near Union Square last month.
Around 8:50 p.m. on Sept. 8, authorities
said, the two men approached
the kiosk on the corner of East 14th
Street and University Place. One of
them struck up a conversation with the
employee inside.
When the worker then exited to continue
speaking with the man, police
noted, the second person went into the
kiosk and took around $400 in cash.
The two thieves then fl ed and met
up at the nearby Union Square subway
station, according to an offi cial familiar
with the incident.
Police described the cash-grabber as
a male between 15 and 17 years old,
who was last seen wearing a white tshirt
and white track pants. He had tattoos
on his right arm.
Cops said the other suspect, who
distracted the employee with conversation,
was a black man between 18 to
20 years old last seen wearing a blue
t-shirt, black and red track pants, while
carrying a bookbag.
Police released surveillance images
of the two men wanted for the 6th Precinct
burglary.

Throwing shade at a failed thief
A man’s shoplifting attempt
was thwarted at
the Bloomingdale’s at 504
Broadway, according to
police.
On Sept. 28, around
8:30 p.m., a man allegedly
put 11 pairs of sunglasses
in a bag and tried to leave
the store.
Offi cials say that he was
then confronted by security,
dropped the bag and
ran out of the department
store.
