 Man dies after being  
 hit by car in Hell’s  
 Kitchen: NYPD

 A man died on Tuesday morning after he was hit by a car in  
 Hell’s Kitchen. 
 At 8:08 a.m. on June 1, the NYPD responded to a 911  
 call regarding a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian struck  
 on West 42nd Street near 11th Avenue. Upon their arrival, offi cers  
 found a 44-year-old man who had been hit by a car, unconscious  
 with trauma to his head. 
 EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue,  
 where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld  
 pending family notifi cation. 
 The driver remained at the scene following the incident. The  
 investigation is ongoing by the New York City Police Department’s  
 Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad.

 Bigot bashes woman with cane at 1 train station

 Cops need the public’s help in fi nding the brute who  
 bashed a young woman at a Morningside Heights  
 subway station last month — the latest in a string of  
 recent hate crimes targeting Asian New Yorkers. 
 The NYPD released on Wednesday morning images of  
 the suspect behind the hate crime that occurred at 6:45  
 a.m. on May 12 at the 116th Street-Columbia University  
 station, near  the corner of Broadway and West 116th  
 Street. 
 According to law enforcement sources, the bigot confronted  
 the 23-year-old woman on the platform and began  
 swinging his walking cane at her. He struck the victim  
 with the weapon multiple times about her head and hip. 
 Cops said he then boarded an arriving Bronx-bound 1  
 train and fl ed the scene. 
 The incident was reported to the 26th Precinct and  
 the NYPD Transit Bureau. The victim suffered pain and  
 swelling, but refused medical attention.

 of Monroe and Pike Streets, at  
 about 7:42 a.m. on May 28. According  
 to police sources, a school  
 bus driver spotted the injured victim  
 and called 911 for assistance. 
 Offi cers from the 5th Precinct  
 found the wounded victim, who  
 had been stabbed multiple times  
 about  the  body.  A  homemade  
 sharp object was also located near  
 the victim, sources familiar with  
 the investigation said. 
 Paramedics rushed the victim  
 to NewYork-Presbyterian Lower  
 Manhattan  Hospital,  where  
 he  was  pronounced  dead.  The  
 NYPD withheld the victim’s identity, 
  pending family notifi cation. 
 No information was available  
 about a possible suspect description, 
 Following a preliminary  investigation,  the case was  
 presented to the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force, which  
 has been busy looking into anti-Asian incidents across the  
 city throughout the year. In March 2021 alone, there were  
 31 anti-Asian hate crimes reported citywide — an infi nite  
 increase from the prior year, when no such incidents were  
 reported in March 2020. 
 Regarding  the  Morningside  Heights  attack,  police  
 describe the suspect as a 60-year-old man with a dark  
 complexion, standing about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing  
 about 150 pounds, with a medium build, brown eyes,  
 close cut salt-and-pepper hair, a mustache and a goatee. 
 He was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket, dark  
 colored sweatpants and white sneakers.

 Side  man  who  allegedly  
 stabbed a 27-year-old man  
 to death inside a neighborhood  
 park on Friday morning. 
 William Rivera, 24, of Chrystie  
 Street was booked June 1 on murder  
 and criminal possession of a  
 weapon charges.
