 A lifelong resident of southeast

 and providing supportive services for victims of  
 domestic violence and domestic assault.  Japneet Singh 
 Singh, a young Sikh activist  
 from Richmond Hill, founded  
 a volunteer group called the  
 New York Sikh Council. His  
 campaign has been focused on  
 boosting civic engagement among youth in the  
 district and giving back to healthcare workers  
 and other essential personnel on the front lines

 The first-generation candidate
