Several young student-athletes from the area competed in the
125th annual Penn Relays. The event is the oldest track and field
competition in America, being held every year in Philadelphia since
1895. 1. Springfield Gardens’ Tajeon McLaughlin runs the third
leg of the 4x400 relay. 2. Ariel Stalkey runs the second leg of
the 4x400 relay for Francis Lewis. 3. Justin Hidalgo runs the anchor
leg for Archbishop Molloy’s 4x100 relay team. 4. Skyy Diop
runs second leg for St. John’s in the 4x400 college women’s relay.
5. Cardozo’s Tatianna Martinez (l) leads off the 4x400 relay.
6. Destiny Davis anchors the St. John’s women’s 4x100. 7. Shmar
Walters anchors the Springfield Gardens 4x100 relay team. 8.
Justin Kleppel runs the anchor leg for Francis Lewis in the 4x100
relay. 9. Josh Villas anchors the 4x100 relay for Townsend Harris.
