a comedy show on the second
Thursday of each month. Lizzy
Cassidy, the main comedian
and producer, invites other
comedians on stage to drink,
perform and make audiences

includes Mike Brown, Colin
DiGarbo, Olivia Grace, Ben
Katzner, Andrea Allan and
Calise Hawkins. Lizard Brain
features comedians from-

Silent Dance Party - Katch
Astoria will have an event
featuring a silent dance party
with Caribbean and Latin
dancing. The night will have
a free salsa lesson and jello
shot specials. Change the
channel on your headset to
fl ip between three genres
throughout the night. Each
headset has a color LED light
that shows which channel
someone is listening to. This
experience will include a pair
of Quiet Events headphones,
glow in-the-dark gear and
three live DJs. For those
who prefer quiet spaces,
there will be zero loud music
to talk over, which unlike
other dance parties means
no ringing in your ears
when you leave. This is a 21+
event. Bring a valid form of
identifi cation.

Community Meeting
on Reducing Housing
Costs - The Briar and Kew
Gardens Lions Club will
have a community meeting
on reducing housing costs
and the virtual senior
rent increase exemption
on Saturday. The NYC
Department of Finance
will discuss the following:
Disability Rent Increase
Exemption, Senior Citizen
Homeowners’ Exemption
and Disabled Homeowners’
Exemption. Participants
should also expect a
presentation on the new
Virtual Senior Center.
The Virtual Senior Center
teaches older adults how
to use digital tools such as
Skype and email. This will
help them connect and build
relationships with peers, as
well as staying up-to-date
with modern technology.

Apple Blossom Children’s
Carnival - Kick off spring
with the Queens County
Farm Museum at their
annual Apple Blossom
Children’s Carnival. This
event will celebrate the
beginning of their special
event season which will
offer a wide array of
events for the community
throughout the year. The
carnival will have a Tilt-
A-Whirl in their orchard,
carnival rides, hayrides
and midway games. This
event lasts two weekends,
the fi rst starting on April 6.
Carnival rides are included
in admission. And the height
rules apply at all rides in
the carnival.

First Passover Seder
Recreation - Recreate
the first Passover Seder
held right after World
War II at the Kupferberg
Holocaust Center in
Bayside. Remember the
Holocaust survivors by
reenacting the Jewish
ritual feast. Friday, April
19, marks the beginning
of Passover, a Jewish
holiday that celebrates the
liberation of the Israelites
from slavery over 3,000
years ago. Each spring, the
week long commemoration
occurs around the globe.
The holiday is widely
recognized in Queens. The
Seder reminds participants
of the mass exodus story of
the Israelites’ enslavement.
Led by Rabbi Charles Agin
with cantor, at the Seder a
copy of the 1946 Haggadah,
and a kosher meal will be
given to each guest.
