Cops help feed hungry for Thanksgiving

Police offi cers across Queens went
above and beyond the call of duty
over the past few weeks, as they
were busy giving out Th anksgiving
meals to families in need throughout
Queens.
In Jackson Heights, offi cers from
the 115th Precinct were able to
hand out over 200 turkeys with help
from the NYPD Community Aff airs
Bureau, NYPD Patrol Borough
Queens North, Our Lady of Fatima
Church and American Brotherhood
MC.
Th at day, the 115th Precinct
tweeted: “Th anks to the generosity
of @NYPDCommAff airs and @
NYPDQueensNorth #NCO Charlie
and David were able to provide turkeys
to #JacksonHeights families.
#Th anksgiving2017”
Th ey followed up by tweeting
out: “A special thank you
to Our Lady of Fatima Church,
American Brotherhood MC and
#NCO Boy, Offi cers Nunziato and
Weinman, for helping families
in Jackson Heights get ready for
#Th anksgiving. Over 200 turkeys
were given out. #NYPDConnecting
#Queens.”
Th e 103rd Precinct assisted Royal
Waste Services in giving out 50 turkeys
at the Housing Bridge Family
Shelter. Th ey also took part in a turkey
giveaway at Mt. Zion Baptist
Church in Jamaica.
Offi cers from the 102nd Precinct
were also spotted helping the Queens
Tabernacle Church hand out meals
to families in need, they tweeted:
“Happy to assist Pastor Bowman &
Queens Tabernacle Church as they
give away Th anksgiving meals to
families in need.”
Offi cers in the 113th Precinct
were out on the town handing out
turkeys to people in the communities
they serve. Th ey also handed
out turkeys and Senior Safety
bags to all of the senior citizens
who came to the 113th Precinct
Community Council Meeting.
Aft er collecting a room full of
holiday food favorites with help
from Senator Tony Avella, We Love
Whitestone Civic, Holly Civic and
Sky View Center Mall, the 109th
Precinct hit the streets and gave out
a number of Th anksgiving meals
to residents of the Bland House
and the New York City Housing
Authority.
Th e families in need weren’t
the only ones who got some holiday
cheer. Th e congregation of
the Bellerose Assembly of God
brought 105 pies to give to the
staff of the 105th Precinct, who
tweeted out their thanks: “Th anks to
Pastor Dominick and the Bellerose
Assembly of God for bringing pies
for the 105 Pct staff ! #Th anksgiving.”
