WHAT and WHY:
Learn more about how the valuable community-based
health programs being developed through the
NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Performing Provider
System (PPS) are impacting the residents of Queens.
The NYP Queens PPS is part of the New York Statefunded
healthcare transformation initiative known as
DSRIP (Delivery System Reform Incentive Program).
The DSRIP program goal is to establish
an integrated, high-performing health care delivery
meet the health care needs of our community.
Featured Speakers:
Nathaly Rubio, Executive Director from Voces
Latina, will discuss the HIV program and the impact of
HIV/AIDS in the Latino community. She will also elaborate
on the agency’s role in assisting immigrant Latinas living
with and at high risk for HIV/AIDS and violence. She will
discuss the program’s efforts to help people gain access to
needed medical, social, and educational services.
Linda Booth and Danielle Francis, Clinical Directors from
Elmcor Youth & Adult Activities, Inc. will focus on their
intensive residential program that is used to serve adult men
and women with chronic substance use disorders. Their
presentation will also elaborate on opioid addiction and the
importance of substance abuse education in the community.
