FOR BREAKING NEWS VISIT www.couriersun.com october 8, 2015 • The Courier sun 27 advertorial CatholiCs to Provide Food For those Who are hungry on Friday, september 25th, a group of volunteers gathered at the Co-Cathedral of st. Joseph on Pacific street in Brooklyn to prepare sandwiches and snacks before hitting 29 different locations throughout the five boroughs to feed those in need. Motivated by Pope Francis’ call to help the poor and marginalized, the volunteers dedicated their Friday night to visit different spots in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, staten island and The Bronx. The night run started at 8PM, when the volunteers boarded 9 vans donated by Bensonhurst youth Cluster, transit Worker union, st Francis College, uncle luigis italian ices, among others. The initiative was coordinated by vinny nerone, youth minister for the Bensonhurst youth Cluster. The group of volunteers included desales Media group employees, st. Francis College students, members of the Jornadas de vida Cristiana movement, youth groups throughout the diocese, and religious men and women. Though the intention began with Pope Francis’ call to be proactive with one’s faith, desales Media group hopes that it is only the beginning to continue helping those in need.
