Boyfriend attacks woman
with broomstick and
fi sts in Howard Beach
Police are searching for a man who
allegedly attacked his girlfriend during a
domestic dispute in Howard Beach.
According to authorities, at 4 p.m. on
Aug. 18, police responded to a 911 call
regarding an assault at a residence in the
vicinity of 98th Street and 164th Avenue.
Upon their arrival, they were informed
by a 46-year-old woman that her boyfriend,
identifi ed as Peter Sarter, allegedly
threw her cellphone to the ground with
the intent of breaking it and hit her with
a broomstick.
Th e victim told police that Sarter
allegedly grabbed her by the hair and
pulled her outside to the car, where he
punched her 20 times. Sarter then allegedly
fl ed the scene to parts unknown.
Sources familiar with the investigation
said that the victim suff ered pain and discomfort
as a result of the assault. EMS
responded to the location but the victim
refused medical attention at the scene.
Th e 106th Precinct tweeted out a photo
of Sarter on Aug. 25.

Armed pair involved in
three Queens robberies
Cops are looking for a duo who they
believe are behind a series of 13 armed
robbery attempts in Queens and beyond
this month.
Th e incidents took place in Queens’
107th, 108th and 114th Precincts, as
well as other locations in Brooklyn and
Manhattan.
In an Aug. 21 release, the NYPD
released images of one of the two suspects,
whom they identifi ed as 31-yearold
Brandon McDonald of Brooklyn.
Police said that the fi rst Queens robbery
occurred at 2 a.m. on Aug. 2 at the intersection
of 38th Street and Broadway in
Astoria. A 41-year-old female victim was
approached by two unidentifi ed males on
the street who displayed a fi rearm and
grab her property.
Law enforcement sources said when the
men were unsuccessful in their attempt,
they fl ed in a Ford Mustang. Th e victim
did not sustain any injuries as a result of
this incident.
Th e second Queens incident occurred
the next day, at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 3, at 9th
Street and Queens Plaza South in Long
Island City.
Authorities said two unidentifi ed males
approached a 27-year-old male victim on
the streets. Th e duo feigned a fi rearm,
demanded his property and removed
jewelry, with a total estimated value of
$24,000.
Police reported that the individuals fl ed
on foot to parts unknown. No injuries
were reported.
Th e most recent incident in Queens
occurred more than a week later, at 8:17
p.m. on Aug. 15, in the area of 192nd
Street and Aberdeen Road in Fresh
Meadows, authorities said.
According to law enforcement sources,
the suspects displayed a fi rearm to a
41-year-old male and demanded his property.
Th ey removed a watch with a total
estimated value of $300.
Police noted that the individuals then
fl ed on foot to parts unknown. No injuries
were reported.

Man found shot on
Elmhurst street
Police are investigating a deadly shooting
in Elmhurst on Sunday aft ernoon that
claimed a man’s life.
Offi cers from the 110th Precinct and
EMS responded to a 911 call at 5:02 p.m.
regarding a shooting in the area of Manila
Street and Kneeland Avenue.
Upon arriving at the scene, they found
the victim, an unidentifi ed man believed
to be in his 20s, with a gunshot wound
to his head. Paramedics pronounced him
dead at the scene; his identity has been
withheld pending family notifi cation.
His body was transported to the Medical
Examiner’s offi ce for an autopsy.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Police have not yet established a motive,
or a possible description of the suspect.
Th e investigation is ongoing, police said.

Thief swipes thousands
worth of jewelry in Flushing
Cops are looking for a thief who made
a fast getaway aft er swiping thousands
of dollars worth of jewelry from Macy’s
this month.
Authorities said that at 8:47 p.m. on
Aug. 13, an unknown
man entered Macy’s,
located at 136-50
Roosevelt Ave., and
approached the jewelry
counter.
Aft er asking the 25-yearold
male employee to see
some items, police noted,
the employee handed over
a diamond necklace, valued
at $32,000. When the
employee was distracted
getting the jewelry, the
suspect took two diamond
rings, valued at $5,000
each, off of a display tray.
With the items in hand,
law enforcement sources
said, the suspect ran from
the counter aft er slipping
another bracelet on his wrist and fl ed the
store in an unknown direction.
Th e NYPD released the following
video of the suspect entering the store
and fl eeing with the stolen goods taken
from nearby surveillance footage, available
on QNS.com.
Th e suspect is described as a black
man with a thin build and was last
seen wearing a black cap, a black and
white shirt, dark colored jeans and black
shoes.
