On July 29 at about 6:15 p.m., a 23-year-old man was approached by the suspect who then forcibly removed the victim’s sneakers and wallet before fleeing the scene, cops said. The victim was uninjured. Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect using the victim’s stolen debit card. Photo courtesy of NYPD 108th Precinct Long Island City, Sunnyside and Woodside Men rescued after jumping into East River in Long Island City Three men ended up in the East River off of Long Island City after one of the men jumped into the water to try and save the other two, police said. On a challenge the pair leaped into the East River on Aug. 25, but one of the men apparently didn’t know how to swim and both struggled in the water, according to published reports. A good Samaritan passing by the area near 48th Avenue at about 8 p.m. went in to rescue the 21-year-old and 22-year-old, cops said. All three were then pulled to safety by police. The good Samaritan refused medical attention at the scene. The two other men were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition. 110th Precinct Corona and Elmhurst Man found stabbed in Elmhurst building A 50-year-old man was found stabbed to death in the front lobby of his Elmhurst building on the afternoon of Aug. 22, according to police. The victim, Mukesh Patel, who had several stab wounds to the chest, was discovered inside a building located at Broadway near St. James Avenue at about 3:10 p.m., cops said. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead. As of press time, no arrests have been made. Suspect wanted in Elmhurst attempted rape Cops are looking for the suspect wanted for attempting to rape a 23-year-old woman in Elmhurst. On Aug. 16 at about 5 a.m. the victim was walking along Gleane Street near Elmhurst Avenue when the suspect grabbed her from behind and punched her in the head, according to cops. The victim fell to the floor and the suspect attempted to grab her while she was down, however she resisted. The suspect then groped the victim before fleeing the scene, police said. Brown. Anthony Guyton has been charged with murder weapon. On Aug. 19 at about 10:25 p.m., Guyton allegedly Bruce Langley of Astoria, near the intersection of 143rd Street and 119th Avenue, Brown said. Langley was shot in the chest as he sat in his Chevy Impala at an intersection a block away from Guyton’s home. According to the district attorney, police patrolling the area caught Guyton his vehicle, a Dodge Charger, which was near the Chevy Impala. Langley was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital FBI, NYPD seek ‘violent’ Queens bank robber Authorities are looking for a suspect they are calling armed and dangerous after he threatened to shoot a bank teller during a robbery. The man is wanted for holding up a Capital One Bank at 216-19 Jamaica Ave. on Aug. 22, according to the FBI. After entering the Queens Village branch, the suspect passed a demand note, threatened to shoot the teller and displayed a black handgun in his waistband, officials said. He then received an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot westbound on Jamaica Avenue. The FBI describes the suspect as a black man in his late 40s to early 50s, with an average height and medium build. He was last seen wearing a black Kangol hat, dark glasses, a blue and white striped short-sleeved button-down shirt and black pants. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 212- 384-1000.
