Chain-snatcher in
Ridgewood is caught in act
on surveillance camera
A 26-year-old woman was walking her
dog in Ridgewood on the morning of
Tuesday, Aug. 3, when a bicyclist rode
up behind her in a chain-snatching incident
— and it was all caught on camera.
Th e incident occurred around 9:30
a.m. in front of 17-39 Bleecker Street.
Police from the 104th Precinct are looking
for the man who approached his victim
on a dark bicycle, grabbed her by the
shirt and then forcibly removed a gold
necklace from her neck before taking off
northbound on Bleecker, according to
the NYPD.
Th e victim sustained minor scratches
on her neck and back but refused medical
attention at the scene. Th e value of
the necklace was around $1,100, police
said.Th
e cyclist is described as a man with
a dark complexion, with a thin build and
long, salt-and-pepper hair in cornrows.
He was last seen wearing black shorts, a
black T-shirt and eyeglasses, and he was
carrying a light brown book bag.
No arrests have been made. Th e investigation
is ongoing.

Two men stabbed in Astoria
road rage incident: NYPD
Two men were stabbed in their car at
a Queens intersection on the night of
Wednesday, Aug. 4, in an apparent road
rage attack, police reported.
Both victims are currently listed
in stable condition at area hospitals.
Detectives are continuing to search for
their attackers.
Police said the double stabbing happened
at about 8:26 p.m. on Aug. 4 near
the corner of 30th Road and 21st Street
in Astoria.
Law enforcement sources said four
men were inside a 2014 black Nissan
Altima when the driver of the vehicle
got into an argument with the two suspects,
described as Hispanic men, who
were on an orange e-bike.
Th e argument turned violent when
the e-bike riders went on the attack and
knifed two of the four Nissan occupants.
One of the victims, a 20-year-old
man, was stabbed below the right eye;
the other victim, an 18-year-old man,
suff ered stab wounds to his left arm
and side.
Following the attack, cops said, the
two suspects fl ed on their e-bike southbound
along 23rd Street. Police later
found the scooter abandoned near the
corner of 23rd Street and 30th Drive.
Th e sedan, meanwhile, struck the
exterior of the nearby Boys and Girls
Club.
Offi cers from the 114th Precinct
responded to the scene. EMS rushed the
20-year-old victim to Elmhurst Hospital
and the 18-year-old to Cornell Medical
Center; both are now listed in stable
condition.
So far, no arrests have been made in
the ongoing investigation, police said.

allegedly masturbated in
front of a child and mother
Police from the 110th Precinct are
looking for a man in connection to an
“endangering the welfare of a child” incident
last month.
On Saturday, July
31, around 2 p.m.
inside a Walgreens
at 91-08 Roosevelt
Ave., the man followed
a 13-year-old
girl throughout the
store.
When the girl met
up with her 49-yearold
mother inside
the store, the man
stopped behind
them and allegedly
put his hands down
his shorts and masturbated
while staring
at them, police
said.Th
e mother yelled
at the man and he
fl ew the Walgreens
in an unknown
direction.
Police described
him as a man in his
20s, around 5’6” and
200 pounds. He was
last seen wearing a
black mask over his
face, a black shirt,
black shorts and
black sneakers.
