FRIDAY AUGUST 8 United States Tennis Association (USTA) employees will set up mini courts and give top-notch tennis instruction to kids ages 10 and under in “Introduction to Ten-and-Under Tennis.” There will also be special surprises and activities. The event is located at the Corona Plaza at Roosevelt Avenue at 103rd Street and is from 10 a.m. to noon and 4 to 6 p.m. Queens Botanical Garden announces the beginning of a new season of “Farmers Market Fridays.” Every Friday from June 20 to November 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., local residents will be able to buy fresh, local and seasonal produce, grown and sold by New York State farmers. The event is from noon to 3 p.m. Over 170 teams and 2,000 participants from around the world will compete in the 22nd Annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival, at the Meadows Lake at Flushing Meadows Corona Park today and tomorrow. The festival is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This multicultural event includes sports drama, music, dance, colors and a food court. Admission is free and the event will be held rain or shine.
