This one-day, eight-hour boat safety course is designed to be an introductory course to meet the boating education needs of recreational boaters and PWC Operators. TUESDAY, JULY 29 Following the success of the pilot edition in 2013, Mare Nostrum Elements is partnering once again with LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (LPAC) and getting ready for the Emerging Choreographer Series 2014-2015. WEDNESDAY, JULY 30 Current or former smokers age 50 to 80 can get free lung cancer screenings on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Forest Hills Hospital, located at 102-01 66th Rd. This screening program, offered by the North Shore-LIJ Health System, uses a CT scanner to take pictures of your lungs. The scan takes about fi ve minutes and uses lowdose radiation similar to a chest X-ray. Queens Museum presents Passport Thursdays 2014, the ninth season of the museum’s annual outdoor summer festival of international music, dance and fi lm returning after the opening of the Museum’s expansion in November 2013. Take a trip to India from 7 to 10 p.m. as Sonali Skandan and Jiva Dance create and present compelling and dynamic works based on the timeless idiom of Bharatanatyam, the classical dance form of South India . There will also be an Indian fi lm, “The World Before Her,” shown. The fi lm is 90 minutes long and subtitles include English and Hindi with English.
