The Ozone Howard Little League season kicked off on Monday, April 15. Not just marking the beginning of a new season and an unofficial spring kick-off, some believe this season will also help get life back to normal. “This season is about getting past all the storm talk and everything else that goes on with it,” said Color Carton coach Nick LoPrinzi. Many of the little leaguers’ homes were damaged by Sandy, and LoPrinzi said the season would transition some normalcy back in their lives. And while the air still might be frigid, everyone in the league can’t wait to get back out on the diamond, he added. “Everyone’s looking to get back outside,” LoPrinzi said. “Winter doesn’t seem like it wants to end.” THE COURIER/Photos by Mike DiBartolomeo WORKS Little League PARADING TO THE FIELD WORKS Little League, formerly known as Rich-Haven Little League, began its 2013 season with a parade through Woodhaven on Saturday, April 13.
