New York’s only all-female
baroque ensemble is coming
to St. John’s University
to present “Woman in Exile,”
a dedication to Antonia
Bembo. Bembo was an
Italian composer and singer
from the 17th-century born
in Venice, Italy. She fled from
her abusive marriage and
was housed under protection
by Louis XIV in a convent. The
event will include works by
Bembo as well as her teachers
and contemporaries, such
as Antonio Vivaldi, Elisabeth
Jacquet de La Guerre and
more.

2 Two-Prov Tournament
- Q.E.D. is having its
third annual two-prov tournament.
Two- person improv
comedy teams are coming
from all over the city
to compete in the competition.
These improvisers
have trained at Upright
Citizens Brigade, Peoples
Improv Theatre, Magnet and
Annoyance. Your vote, along
with a panel of judges, will
get to determine who gets to
go on. This year, workshops
will be offered to everyone.

a question. Titan is closing
its 10th anniversary season
at Queens Theatre with
Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.”
Known as the greatest play
ever, the tragedy of “Hamlet”
tells of the story of a prince
who is distraught after his
father is murdered and his
uncle assumes the throne.
It’s up to him to fix things
in the state of Denmark.
