District Attorney Richard A. Brown identified the defendants as London Bhagwandass, 23, Christopher Centron, 27, and Devan M. Rivera, 22, of Richmond Hill, and Justin Centron of Kew Gardens. As part of a narcotics investigation, the warrant was executed at Christopher Centron’s Lefferts Boulevard residence at 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2. According to reports, Rivera crashed through the front door at the time of the search. Bhagwandass and Justin Centron were found in the living room. Police recovered a veritable drug stash including 12 pounds of marijuana, 9 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, fourteen ounces of cocaine, half an ounce of crack cocaine, as well as MDMA, Percocet and Tramadol pills, drug paraphernalia, and $19,500 in cash. Christopher Centron, the target of the warrant, was allegedly observed at the corner of 121st Street and Jamaica Avenue. Brown said the “morning wake-up call” should serve as a warning to other drug dealers that the law will aggressively and relentlessly track down and prosecute those who traffic in drugs. The defendants were arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on a criminal complaint charging each with first-, second-, and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, first-degree criminal possession of marijuana, and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia. The defendants are being held without bail and ordered to return to court this Monday, March 7. They each face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. The victim was in front of a location on Jamaica Avenue near 85th Street at about 6:48 p.m. on March 2 when the group approached him. Authorities said the suspects — described as Hispanic males between 15 and 17 years of age — went on the attack, punching and kicking the man about the body, then stabbing him in the neck and torso. Sources familiar with the investigation said the victim was not known to the group, and a motive for the attack also remains a mystery. Following the assault, the group fled in an unknown direction. Officers from the 102nd Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. Paramedics rushed the victim to Jamaica Hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the assault is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish speakers, dial 888-57-PISTA), visit their website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577.
