Drive-by shooter fi res fatal
bullet at driver stopped
at red light in Glendale
Detectives are searching for the driveby
killer who shot a 25-year-old man to
death at a turning lane on Woodhaven
Boulevard in Glendale early in the morning
of Friday, Feb. 26.
Th e incident happened at about
12:46 a.m. on Feb. 26 at the corner
of Woodhaven Boulevard and Myrtle
Avenue in Glendale, adjacent to Victory
Field in Forest Park.
According to law enforcement sources,
the victim was operating a silver, fourdoor
sedan while stopped at a red light
inside a left -turn bay on the northbound
side of Woodhaven Boulevard when the
killer drove up alongside him inside a
black sedan.
Cops said the unidentifi ed shooter
then opened fi re, striking the victim in
the chest, before speeding away from
the scene.
Police said the victim managed to turn
his vehicle from Woodhaven Boulevard
onto Myrtle Avenue, but was unable to
complete the turn — crashing his car into
a street lamp at the southwest corner of
the intersection.
Offi cers from the 102nd Precinct
and EMS units responded to the scene.
Paramedics rushed the victim to Jamaica
Hospital, where he was pronounced
dead. Police have withheld his identity,
pending family notifi cation.
At this point in the investigation, detectives
have not yet established a possible
motive for the shooting — or a description
of the shooter.

Cops seek man who stole
$7,000 from Murray Hill bar
Police are looking for a man who stole
$7,000 from a Murray Hill bar earlier
this week.
On Monday, Feb. 22, around 5:30 a.m.,
surveillance footage at Tavern 157, located
at 157-12 Northern Blvd., caught an unidentifi
ed man breaking in through the bar’s
locked back door, according to the NYPD.
Once inside, the man grabbed around
$7,000 from the register and then left the
bar on foot, cops said.
A 24-year-old employee, arriving for
work around 3 p.m. later that day, discovered
the cash missing from the register
and called the police.
Th e NYPD describes the man as being
between the ages of 20 and 30.
No arrests have been made and the
investigation is ongoing.

Man assaults and robs
woman in Flushing: NYPD
Police are searching for the man
who assaulted and robbed a woman in
Flushing last week.
Authorities say that a 44-year-old
woman was walking near 35th Avenue
and Linden Place just aft er 9 p.m. on
Tuesday, Feb. 23, when an unknown man
approached her from behind. He proceeded
to grab her purse and drag her to
the ground.
Th e man proceeded to punch and kick
the woman before ripping the purse —
which contained $132 in cash, among
other items — from her hands and fl eeing
westbound on 35th Avenue.
Th e victim suff ered minor injuries as a
result of the attack.
Police say the man was last seen wearing
a mask, gloves, sweatpants, sneakers and a
hooded sweatshirt.
Authorities released surveillance video
and an image of the suspect on Friday.
