Come fulfill a New Year’s resolutions by participating in our adults 50+ basketball
league! There is a 3 v. 3 adult basketball recreation club hosted by the NYC Parks and
Recreation Department for the remainder of the winter. There are five regular season
games, along with a scrimmage, a trained scorekeeper, scoring stats and a referee.
The teams can sign up prior to the start of the regular season.

the Noguchi Museum in
its borough. The museum
offers a pay-what-you-wish
admission entry every first
Friday night of the month.
The museum was founded
by Isamu Noguchi, who
originally bought the space
to showcase his own work.
The museum features main,
upstairs galleries, and a
garden for visitors, vastly
expanding since it opened
over 30 years ago. Come on
the right summer night, and
you can even see musicians
perform in the garden.

New Year Party at MoMA
PS1. The Year of the Pig
Lunar New Year Party is a tradition
founded three years
ago. Organized by BUBBLE
T, NYC’s roving dance party,
this community event will
have DJs, live performances,
interactive installations, cocktails
and snacks. The museum
will have an after-hours
viewing of “Bruce Nauman:
Disappearing Acts” which,
according to the MoMA PS1
is the most comprehensive
exhibition of the artist’s work
ever assembled.

Pojagi” is having its opening
night reception at the
at Flushing Town Hall.
Wonju Seo, a Korean artist,
creates abstract textile art,
which was inspired from
the ancient art of Pojargi.
Pojargi is a historic Korean
art form of textile patchwork.
Her work is being
featured twice in The New
York Times in “Seeing Asian
Cultures Through an Indigo
Lens” and “Origami Heaven
Unfolds.” Come experience
Seo’s artwork for yourself
which she says personally
redefined her personal and
cultural identities.

tunes while professional
performers swing dance
in the show at Flushing
Town Hall. This Grammy
Award-winning band has
more than 60,000 period
band arrangement. The
New York Times says, “An
erupting sense of euphoria
would describe the vintage
swing emanating
from Giordano and The
Nighthawks.” The group has
been together for over 40
years.

Year pig sculpture to make

The finished sculpture
will be displayed in the garden
for QBG’s Lunar New
Year celebration on Feb. 9.
