Creep attempts to rape
woman at knifepoint on
Woodhaven street: NYPD
Police are searching for the man who
threatened a woman with a knife, told
her not to scream and attempted to rape
her in Woodhaven on the night of Friday,
Jan. 22, according to authorities.
Police say that a 58-year-old woman
was walking northbound on 92nd Street
around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 22 when an
unknown man approached her from
behind and pushed her to the ground.
Th e man, who police say is approximately
30 years old with a light complexion,
then fl ashed a knife, mounted
the woman and grabbed $5 in cash from
her, according to authorities. Th e suspect
covered the woman’s mouth, told her
not to scream and then began to forcibly
remove her pants before biting her on her
exposed left hip.
At that point, a passerby approached
and the suspect fl ed southbound on 92nd
Street, police said.
EMS arrived at the scene and transported
the woman to Jamaica Hospital
Medical Center in stable condition,
police said. Th e woman sustained a bite
wound to her hip.
Authorities say the suspect has a medium
build and black hair and was last seen
wearing a black leather jacket, a black
shirt, black pants, black shoes and a black
backpack.
Police obtained surveillance video of
the suspect from the 85th Street–Forest
Parkway subway station.

Cops seek man who shattered
apartment door to steal
packages in Astoria
Th e NYPD is looking for a man who
broke into and stole several packages
from an apartment building in Astoria
earlier this month.
On Tuesday, Jan. 12, around 3:20 p.m.,
an unidentifi ed man walked into the foyer
of an apartment building located at 21-34
Broadway and tried to force the lobby door
open, according to the NYPD. Aft er he was
unable to open the door, he left on foot and
headed down the street to another building.
About fi ve minutes later, the man again
tried to enter the lobby of a building,
according to the police. Tugging at the
lobby door of a building located at 23-24
Broadway, the man eventually broke the
door handle off , shattering the glass into
the foyer, video of the incident shows.
Once inside, the man grabbed three
packages belonging to tenants of the
building and fl ed on foot in an unknown
direction, cops said.
Police describe the suspect as being
around 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was last
seen wearing a black and white hooded
sweater, dark pants, white and gray
sneakers and a light-colored face mask.
No arrests have been made and the
investigation is ongoing.

Cops seek suspect behind
burglary of seven businesses
around Downtown Flushing
Th e NYPD is searching for a man who
burgled over half a dozen businesses
in and around Downtown Flushing in
December and January.
In all, the man suspected of being
behind the seven early morning breakins
made off with over $5,000 in cash
and products over the past two months,
according to the NYPD.
Th e burglaries, which all occurred within
in the confi nes of the 109th Precinct,
began on Saturday, Dec. 12, around 4
a.m., when the unidentifi ed man forced
open the secured door of a Starbucks,
located at 41-02 Main St., in Flushing,
according to the NYPD.
Once inside, he took around $1,200 in cash
from the register and fl ed on foot, cops said.
About 30 minutes later, the man broke
into a daycare center located at 132-06
Maple Ave., in Queensboro Hill, police
said. Aft er rummaging around, the man
left without taking any property.
Around 5:30 a.m., that same morning,
the burglar forced open the front door of
a restaurant located at 40-09 Prince St., in
Flushing, according to authorities. Aft er taking
around $1,000 in cash and electronics,
the man ran off in an unknown direction.
Th e following week, on Wednesday,
Dec. 23, the man broke into a bakery
located at 136-85 41st Ave., in Flushing,
around 12:30 a.m., cops said.
A bakery employee showed up that
morning to fi nd the man had taken
around $100 in cash from the register,
according to the NYPD.
Th e burglaries extended into the new
year. On Saturday, Jan. 2, around 1 a.m.,
the same suspect broke into a bakery
located at 37-25 Main St., in Flushing.
Aft er forcing open the locked front door,
the man took $400 from the register and
fl ed in an unknown direction.
Th e next weekend, on Saturday, Jan. 9,
around 8 p.m., the man broke into a cellphone
store located at 135-37 40th Rd. in
Flushing, cops said. Once inside, the man
took around $2,600 in cash and electronics
and fl ed on foot.
A few days later, on Monday, Jan. 11,
around 12:40 a.m., the suspect broke into
a restaurant located at 59-10 Main St., in
Queensboro Hill.
A restaurant employee showed up to
work the next morning to fi nd the front
door broken and around $80 missing
from the register, according to the NYPD.
Police describe the suspect as being
between 20 and 30 years old. He was last
seen wearing a green jacket, a red hooded
sweater, black pants, gray and black
sneakers, a black and gray face mask and
a black backpack.
No arrests have been made and the
investigation is ongoing.
