The keys to success
Lissette Burgos, community associate at Pan American International High School
in Elmhurst, developed an innovative idea to motivate the students for college applications.
She enlisted volunteers such as seniors Luisa Ramirez and Nicolle Obregon
(shown) to cut out large keys on cardboard. Th ey wrote the names of each senior on
a key and attached a photo of the student.
When a student receives a college acceptance letter, a copy of it will be played on
the key, which will then be placed on a map of the world.
