The suspect entered 20-30 Elk Dr. at about 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 2 and shot a 37-year-old man one time in the leg, cops said. The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 102nd Precinct Kew Gardens, Richmond Hill East, Richmond Hill, Woodhaven and Ozone Park Two arrested in deadly Christmas shooting in Richmond Hill Police have arrested two men in a Christmas Day shooting that killed a 20-year-old Jamaica man. Abu Quick, 23, of the Bronx, and Jamar Alexander, 25, of Queens, have both been charged with seconddegree murder and criminal possession of weapon in the death of James Bryant, cops said. Bryant was found with a gunshot wound to the neck near 126th Street and 89th Avenue in Richmond Hill about 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 25, police said. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 104th Precinct Ridgewood, Glendale, Middle Village and Maspeth Suspect wanted in Middle Village, Ridgewood bank robberies Police are looking for a man who they say robbed three Queens banks, including two on the same block. The first robbery occurred inside a Capital One Bank at 74-11 Metropolitan Ave., near 75th Street in Middle Village, just after 3 p.m. on Nov. 24, cops said. After entering the bank, the suspect passed a demand note and fled on foot with about $750. On Dec. 9, at about 11:30 a.m., the same man robbed another Capital One Bank, at 70-01 Forest Ave., near 70th Avenue, in Ridgewood, police said. The suspect fled the bank on foot with $2,617. The same man returned to Middle Village on Dec. 30 to rob a bank just down the street from the site of the Nov. 24 robbery. According to police, the man entered the Astoria Bank at 75-25 Metropolitan Ave. at about 11:30 a.m., passed a demand note and fled on foot with about $7,400. Police described the suspect as black, 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and a black knit hat. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 113th Precinct St. Albans, Hollis, Springfield Gardens, South Ozone Park, South Jamaica, Addisleigh Park and Locust Manor 64-year-old man killed in Jamaica house fire An early morning house fire in Jamaica left one man dead and his elderly mother injured, authorities said. The fire started just after 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 5 in the basement of the two-story home on 118th Road near Marsden Street, authorities said. It took firefighters Compiled by Cristabelle Tumola until about 5:10 a.m. to control the flames. Two residents were taken to area hospitals, according to police. An 89-year-old woman was transported to Franklin Hospital in stable condition. The woman’s 64-year-old son was taken to Queens Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity had not been released by police as of press time. A third person refused medical treatment at the scene, the FDNY said. As of press time, the cause of the fire was under investigation. Police looking for suspect in attempted armed robbery of of-duty cop A masked man threatened to kill an off-duty cop during an attempted armed robbery in Jamaica, police said. The suspect approached the victim, a 30-year-old NYPD officer who was off duty at the time, on Sutphin Boulevard near Linden Boulevard at about 1:10 a.m. on Dec. 6 and pulled out a gun, cops said. The victim took cover behind a vehicle, drew his firearm and identified himself to the suspect. The suspect then said he was going to kill the officer and came up to the vehicle, police said. Both the officer and the suspect circled the vehicle and the suspect fired once before fleeing on foot. No one was injured. Police have released a video showing the suspect walking toward the officer, and then circling the vehicle, and describe him as in his 20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 pounds.
