Bandit targets bus riders
Police are looking to question a man
about a pair of robberies that took place
on the streets of Fresh Meadows in
December.
According to police, at 12:40 a.m. on
Dec. 15, a 34-year-old female was walking
home in the vicinity of 162nd Street
and 75th Avenue aft er exiting the Q65
bus. Th e suspect, who was following the
victim, approached her and threw her to
the ground.
Th e perpetrator then snatched the victim’s
purse and took off northbound on
162nd Street, law enforcement sources
noted.

Authorities said the second incident
took place at 10:59 p.m. on Dec. 23. Th at
evening, a 62-year-old woman was walking
home in the vicinity of 162nd Street
and 73rd Avenue when the suspect began
to follow her aft er she got off the Q65
bus. Th e crook approached the victim,
threw her to the ground and ran off with
her purse.
Neither of the victims were injured in
the robberies, both of which were reported
to the 107th Precinct, police said.
On Dec. 28, the NYPD released images
of a man wanted for questioning in the
capers. He’s described as a black man who
was last seen wearing a winter jacket with
a fur hood, black pants with a white stripe
and white sneakers.

Crook fi lls up at gas station
Detectives need the public’s help in
fi nding the perpetrator who swiped cash
from a Jamaica gas station on the secondto
last day of 2018.
Law enforcement sources said the robbery
occurred at 7:50 p.m. on Dec. 30,
2018 inside the Shell gas station located at
187-41 Hillside Ave.
According to police, the unidentifi ed
perpetrator walked into the service station
and displayed a fi rearm while demanding
cash. A 59-year-old male employee subsequently
opened the cash drawer, allowing
the suspect to grab an unknown quantity
of currency.
Cash in hand, the bandit then fl ed the
station on foot heading southbound on
188th Street, police reported.
Offi cers from the 107th Precinct
responded to the incident; no injuries
were reported.
On Jan. 1, the precinct tweeted out
images of the unidentifi ed bandit, who is
shown wearing a black winter coat and
mask while carrying a silver handgun.

109th Precinct
Flushing
Cops seek knife-wielding thief
Th e 109th Precinct is looking for a
man who allegedly tried to rob a man at
knifepoint on a Flushing street and then
injured him during a struggle.
Law enforcement sources said the
attempt took place at 8 a.m. on Dec.
21 near the corner of Prince Street and
Roosevelt Avenue.
According to police, a 36-year-old man
was overheard talking about how he had
just been paid, cops said. Th e suspect then
approached the man, displayed a knife
and demanded money.
Authorities said the assailant then
grabbed the bag belonging to the man,
resulting into a physical struggle with the
victim. During the scuffl e, police said, the
victim sustained a cut to his shoulder; the
would-be thief then fl ed the scene on foot
southbound along Prince Street.
No belongings were taken from the victim,
cops said.
Th e victim was taken to NewYork-
Presbyterian Queens hospital in stable
condition; he was treated for the laceration
and later released.
No arrests have been made and the
investigation is ongoing, according to
police.

in kidnapping
Police are
looking for man
who may know

about a duo
who pretended
to be cops
while trying to
abduct a man
at a Long Island
City dealership.
A c c o r d i n g
to police, at 9:50 a.m. on Dec. 12, two
unknown men walked inside of the
Hyundai of Long Island City dealership,
located at 34-54 44th St., and approached
a 28-year-old man who was waiting to
have his car serviced.
Authorities said the suspects then
sprayed the victim with an unknown substance,
told him that he was under arrest
for being a fugitive and attempted to
remove the victim from the location in
handcuff s.
Law enforcement sources stated that
the victim put up a struggle and ultimately
fought off the suspects, who then
fl ed the scene in a grey Dodge Caravan
and went westbound on Northern
Boulevard.
Police are looking to question Jose
Santiago-Cruz in relation to this incident.
He is described as a Hispanic man with
dark hair, brown eyes, standing 5 feet, 6
inches tall and weighing 200 pounds.

Howard Beach
Robber wanted for
assaulting woman
Cops are looking for a man who
robbed a woman near her car in Howard
Beach last month.
According to police, at 5:40 a.m. on
Dec. 28, a 50-year-old woman was walking
to her car, which was parked in
the vicinity of 157th Avenue and 79th
Street, when she was approached from
behind by an unknown man.
Law enforcement sources said the perpetrator
proceeded to push the victim
into her car, demanding money and
threatening bodily harm. Th e suspect
took the victim’s cellphone and personal
property before fl eeing on foot eastbound
on 157th Avenue. Th e woman
was not seriously injured.
Police described the suspect as a black
man in his 20s and standing approximately
5 feet, 2 inches tall.
