Three plainclothes officers stopped the suspect, William Bazemore, at about 12:30 a.m. on December 27 at Beach Channel Drive and Nameoke Avenue, when they saw an unusual bulge in the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt, according to the NYPD. After the officers approached Bazemore, he turned and shot at them, police said. The cops returned fire and Bazemore fled northbound on Beach Channel Drive towards Horton Avenue, with two of the officers chasing him on foot and one following him by car, the NYPD said. He was caught a block away. After struggling with the officers, and they recovered  a .22 caliber Rohm revolver at the scene, cops said. Bazemore was taken to Jamaica Hospital with minor injuries, where he was treated, according to police. He has been charged with attempted murder of a police officer, attempted assault,  criminal  possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, authorities said. 103RD PRECINCT Downtown Jamaica Business District, Hollis Park Gardens, Hollis, Lakewood and Jamaica Man stabbed several times outside bar A dispute between two men in front of a  Jamaica  bar on December 21 ended in a stabbing, cops said. The altercation occurred about 4:50 a.m., outside of Euphoria Bar, at  144- 05 Jamaica Avenue, police said. During the argument, the suspect stabbed the 22-year-old victim several times, then fled westbound on Jamaica Avenue in a black four-door sedan, according to the NYPD. The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical but stable condition. Police have released photos of the suspect and the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. 107TH PRECINCT Fresh Meadows, Cunningham Heights, Hilltop Village, Electchester, Pomonok and some high rise complexes along Hillside Avenue Two suspects wanted for robbing bank Two men allegedly robbed a bank at gunpoint in Flushing on December 27. The pair entered a TD Bank on Main Street about 7:10 p.m. The first suspect took out a firearm, announced a robbery and ordered a bank employee to the ground, police said. The second jumped over a counter, took $142 and both suspects fled. One robber is male, around 6 feet tall, and was wearing a blue-hooded wind breaker with a “NY” logo, black jeans and black gloves. His face was covered by a scarf. The second suspect is also male, around 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a dark complexion and medium build, police said. He was wearing a hat, sunglasses, a dark jacket, black gloves and dark jeans with dark-colored boots. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. 109TH PRECINCT Downtown Flushing, East Flushing, Queensboro Hill, College Point, Malba, Whitestone, Beechhurst and Bay Terrace Cops seek suspect in Flushing restaurant purse theft Police are looking for a woman who snatched an unattended purse off a chair at a Chinese restaurant in Flushing and fled. The grand larceny took place at Good Fortune Restaurant, at 46-45 Kissena Boulevard, on November 30 at about noon. The suspect — described as an Asian woman with long black hair and brown eyes — allegedly took the bag off a chair after the 25-year-old female victim left it behind to go to the bathroom, police said. The thief walked out of the restaurant and fled in a 2013 black Mercedes Benz, according to authorities. Officers of the 109th Precinct urge residents to keep their valuables close while shopping and dining and not leave them unattended, especially in restaurants, cars and shopping carts. Man arrested for alleged $30K robbery Police have arrested a College Point man for allegedly robbing a woman on the street for her purse that contained $30,000. Jerome Johnson, 24, is accused of pushing a woman to the ground on December 23 and taking her purse about 4:30 p.m., police said. The victim immediately ran to a nearby store and called 9-1-1. Police found the alleged suspect and charged him with robbery, assault on a police officer, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest, authorities said. 115TH PRECINCT East Elmhurst, North Corona and Jackson Heights Elmhurst man killed in Christmas morning hit-and-run A man died Christmas morning after a car struck him in East Elmhurst before fleeing, police said. Enrique Clemente-Ovando, 29, of  Elmhurst, was crossing Astoria Boulevard, near 103rd  Street, about 4:30 a.m. on December 25, when the vehicle hit him, according to the NYPD. Clemente-Ovando was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The car, which did not remain at the scene, may be a beige Toyota Camry with a Pennsylvania registration, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
