This week, the Queens Museum invites children ages 5 to 12 and their adult companions to take a look at Queens Museum artist Mierle Laderman Ukeles’ “One Year Worktime II” mural from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Symbols and color association with the change in seasons will also be explored. End the year on a good note with a 2.5- to 3-mile jog with other participants starting at 9 a.m. This running initiative is open to all ages, experience levels, walkers, strollers and dogs. Participants are directed to meet near the track, next to the bathrooms. Astoria Park Track is located in Astoria Park at 19th Street between Astoria Park S and Ditmars Boulevard. New Year’s Eve 2017 @ Sweet Afton. Celebrate the new year at one of Astoria’s favorite gastropubs.
